Katherine Shea Barrett is the founding Executive Director of Moms for Moms. She brings over 15 years of leadership experience in health care policy and health system transformation in both the private and public sectors, all aimed at making health care delivery more safe, affordable and equitable for all Massachusetts families. Ms. Barrett joined March for Moms from the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission, where she served as the Policy Director for Care Delivery Transformation and Strategy, and drove critical investments in and improvements to the delivery of health care across the Commonwealth. Prior to the Health Policy Commission, she held roles at the Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization, Massachusetts Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and the Commonwealth Fund. Most importantly, she is the proud mother of two creative and busy children, Ellie, age 7 and Will, age 4. She lives in Walpole, Massachusetts with her husband, Ben, a civil engineer.
“Katie’s values, ability to bridge diverse perspectives, and unremitting commitment to vulnerable families align closely with the founding principles of March for Moms. Her appointment as Executive Director is a watershed moment in the movement to ensure all mothers get the care and support they deserve,” said Ginger Breedlove, Chair of the March for Moms Association Board of Directors.
